TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
1) The competition is held in the following seven categories: – String quartet – Piano trio – Duo violin/ piano – Duo cello/ piano - Piano quartet - String trio - Duo viola/ piano 2) The competition is open to all professional musicians (students and alumni of musical colleges and universities). Any musician can apply for only one of the categories. 3) There are three rounds of competition: 1st round: A DVD of a recording of one freely chosen part of any work by Beethoven should be submitted along with the application. 2nd round: The second round will take place from 06 November 2017 to 09 November 2017 in Luslawice, Poland. The program should consist of one complete work by Ludwig van Beethoven (the same one chosen for the first round). The total playing time may not exceed 45 minutes. 3rd round: The third round will be held on 11 November 2017 in Luslawice, Poland. The program should consist of one freely chosen work by a 20th, or 21st century Polish composer and at least one other freely chosen work (with the exception of works used in a previous round of the competition). The total playing time may not exceed 60 minutes. 4) All auditions are open to the public. 5) Prize winners are obliged to take part in the final concert on 12 November 2017. 6) Members of the jury must announce, if one of their students is taking part in the competition. Participants of the competition are obliged as well to notify the organizers, if they are students of a jury member. 7) Please submit the application by mail to: International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition c/o Piotr Tomaszewski, Badenallee 1, 14052 Berlin, Germany 8) The application deadline is 1 September 2017. 9) Please make sure that your application is compete and legible, otherwise it will not be processed.   10) The following attachments are required for each member of the ensemble: - a photocopy of an official identification document  (passport, id card) - a photocopy of proof of study/ diploma - a recent photo (ensemble only) - a CV - a letter of recommendation from a qualified person (professor, teacher, etc.) - a copy of proof of payment of the application fee 11) The jury has the right to decline any application without stating a reason for doing so. 12) The application fee is 100,00 € per person in an ensemble. The fee is non- reimbursable. 13) The selected program is binding upon application. 14) The selected participants undertake to compete in each round for which they qualify. Cancellation is only possible upon justified reason and must be announced promptly. All participants are required to take part in all rehearsals and concerts related to the competition. This also applies to performances for sponsors and patrons of the competition. 15) Certificates of participation are issued upon request. 16) The jury reserves the right to not award prizes, or to award prizes jointly. The jury's decisions are binding and final. 17) The International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition and its organizers reserve the right to record and broadcast all, or any part of the competition, on TV or radio. This applies to audio, video and film recordings, as well as all other forms of digital or analogue recording processes. The entire competition will be recorded for archival purposes. No royalties will be payed to participants. 18) Prizewinners are required to mention at every performance and engagement for the period of two years that they are winners of the 1st International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition. 19) The Polish version of this document shall be regarded solely authoritative in cases of doubt with regards to the interpretation of the text. The jury's decisions are final and no correspondence shall be entered into. 20) By signing the application form the participants confirm that they have read and consent to the a fore mentioned terms of participation.
